20 weeks- HALF WAY DONE!!!

Far Along?  HALF WAY!!!!!!!!!!  Officially 20 Weeks, 6 days!  Wahooo!  That first half flew by!

Total weight gain/loss: Grr, 2 pounds total.  However, for being almost 21 weeks along, only 2 pounds gained is pretty darn good I think!

Maternity clothes?Still not in maternity clothes- I like to wear my maternity leggings, but not because i need to.  just because they are comfy.  I have bought some pretty cute stuff, just waiting to be able to wear them without feeling like i am swimming in them!

Stretch marks? None

Size of Baby (in produce)? She is the length of a banana, and the overall size of a cantaloupe!  I can't believe she is so big already- crazy!  She is also close to 11 ounces... we are getting pretty darn close to a pound!

Sleep: Sleeping good, I have been more tired than usual this week, she must be growing.

Best moment this week:
Totally not baby related- but I got my new hot pink Juicy Couture purse in the mail- and bonus- it is big enough to fit baby supplies (that is how I justified the purchase... it could technically be a baby bag) :)

Miss Anything? Missing my husband, as usual, it seems like I miss him more every week.

Movement: Yes, yes, yes.  All those things i have been feeling the last couple weeks are definitely baby- i feel her multiple times throughout the day, and especially at night when I am laying still relaxing.  Such a crazy feeling!

Food cravings:Skinny cow chocolate popsicles (only 100 calories!), chipoltle chicken burritos.  I was in the middle of making dinner this week when I suddenly realized I wanted a protein style hamburger and animal fries from in and out- so i stopped cooking my dinner, and drove to in and out (and waited in line for 30 minutes)... it was so worth it.

Anything making you queasy or sick: all good here.

Have you started to show yet:  Gosh, i feel like some days it is super obvious, and other days it isn't.    I have been wearing a lot of my tunics and over sized blouses, so you really cant see the mini bump that much yet.

Gender: Girl!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Half and half this week, just because I miss Lee.  I am fine during the day when I am busy at work, but as soon as I get home, i start to get sad.  And then when I finally am able to talk to him, I start thinking about how much I miss him.  I had a couple cry sessions this week.

Looking forward to: This work week being over- it is super busy and I just look forward to relaxing next weekend!  I am already tired thinking about it.
Other news? Baby registry is created!  As I started adding things, I realized I am going to have way to many newborn sized things, so I varied sizes between newborn and 6+ months!  Lee and I are also working on getting on the wait list for Military childcare here in San Diego- that would be so great if we could get Ledoux into a home childcare!  The waitlist is so long, they say you have to get on early in your pregnancy to secure a spot- fingers crossed!

19 Weeks!

Just a taste of Ledoux's wardrobe (so far!)

Presents from daddy!

Far Along? 19 weeks, 6 days (so pretty much 20 weeks!!!)  Eeek... not 'officially' half way, but pretty darn close!

Total weight gain/loss: I have been so busy this weekend I haven't even looked at that evil scale, however when I weighed myself on Friday, I hadn't gained anything new.

Maternity clothes? I wore my Gap maternity leggings all weekend, but not because I needed them due to baby belly- more so because they are so comfy.  I will wear them even when I am not preggo.

Stretch marks? None

Size of Baby (in produce)?Ugh- still a mango! How has her fruit/veggie not changed this week?  She is up to 10-11 ounces this week though- almost a whole pound! (I will blame her weight on my gaining my one pound)  My sprout app says that although small, she now perfectly resembles a mini human- so crazy!

Sleep: Not really- a little more difficult to get to sleep this week, but that could be for a million reasons that have nothing to do with the mini-me.

Best moment this week:  Gosh- so many!
Love this- thanks mom!

Restoration Hardware Kids blanket and onesie!
Sneak peek of nursery: PB Kids Bassinet-look close- the blanked is monogrammed in pink with Ledoux

  • Having my parents in town-even though it was a quick trip, we got alot done (and my dad made the most amazing corn beef-my mouth is watering right now!)  More than anything, it was just nice to hang out with them. I am lucky to have them close enough (6 hours away) that they are able to drive up and see me once in a while.  My mother came in with what felt like a million gifts- all wrapped.  She got the cutest clothes and accessories for Ledoux (see the pics, alot of them are from her and my dad!)  She also got my a super cute purse with matching shirt and shoes- LOVE.
  • Getting a package from Lee of baby clothes he hand picked out for Ledoux (and he did a very good job!)  He bought her a nightlight yesterday, so I am super excited to get that in the mail too!  Even though he isn't here, he is still able to help and have a 'daddy' touch on everything we are doing.
  • Shopping in the rain on Saturday- got a killer deal on a Pottery Barn Kids rug- reg. $150, got it for $50ish...
  • new baby accessories from Craigslist (I got a bassinet, baby bjorn, and a baby papason chair!) I really wanted the Pottery Barn Kids Bassinet, but I am not going to shell out $400+ for it... (especially since its only for the first few months...) so my mom found a nice one, hardly used on craigslist.  We braved the weather yesterday and found ourselves in a gated neighborhood with a lady who was selling pretty much everything from her children.  I got the bassinet I wanted- as well as the other accessories for $300-  we figured it out when we got home, it would have been close to $600 to buy all the stuff I got if I would have bought it at stores.
Miss Anything? MY HUSBAND (duh), still missing red wine... pretty sure these two things are going to remain constant for the next 20 weeks.

Movement: I am 99% sure I felt Ledoux move this week- we were watching Smash (a tv show) that has alot of music on it, and i had the music up really loud- and I felt some weird little, soft, thumps/flicks.  Later that night, I was listening to a song that reminds me of Lee on my Ipad and I felt it again.  And the next night, I was watching American Idol and i felt it again.  Pretty sure she is jammin' out grooving in there. I have felt the little thuds every night since-usually after I eat and I am laying down relaxing at night.

Food cravings: Nothing too crazy this week- they say pregnant people at this stage have a crazy appetite, but I really haven't had that... lucky for me I suppose.  I still dig mayo on salads though- and people are still thinking I am nutso.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing currently (other than those nasty shrimp)

Have you started to show yet:  Yes- my parents said they can tell.  There is a little belly sticking out.

Gender: Girl!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty good this week- mostly because my parents were here :)

Looking forward to: getting the wall letters in the mail that spell Ledoux's name, getting Lee's newest purchase in the mail... nothing too crazy happening this week so that is about it!
Other news? My project this week will be putting together the little baby dresser I got at ikea, and painting my pout bench my dad made me when i was little so I can use it for ledoux.  I also need to put together our office, since we switched rooms around this weekend and the office is in a little state of chaos.

18 Weeks

Far Along? 18 weeks, and some days.  I say some days because I have been given 3 due dates now- August 12, August 9th, and more recently, August 7th.  So pick the one you like best... I like August 7th, which would make me 18 wks, 6 days.

Total weight gain/loss:  Sad to report I have gained my first official baby pound.  Or it could have been the In and Out burger I chose to eat yesterday... regardless, the pound has been gained. The doctor told me to stop weighing myself,  I will drive myself crazy.  I told her I would stop, but between you and me- I won't! :)  I am keeping a close eye on this...

Maternity clothes? I bought some super cute maternity clothes however I still haven't worn them- no need yet.  Still in my regular clothes (but they are getting snug)

Stretch marks? None

Size of Baby (in produce)? A Mango according to my book, Lee informed me that according to his 'daddy' book, she is the size of a beer can. (mmm...beer....only 21 more weeks!)

Sleep: No issues other than the constant pee breaks.

Best moment this week: The 18 week anatomy ultrasound- baby wouldn't sit still.  The poor ultrasound lady had to record the ultrasound and rewind to take the pictures she needed- Ledoux wouldn't stay still log enough for her to click the 'take picture' button.  It looks like she has all of her parts- heart, legs, toes, etc.

Miss Anything? MY HUSBAND and red wine.  I would kill to have a glass (or 3) of red wine.  (Again.. only 21 more weeks!)

Movement: There is something grooving down there, but there are so many things it could be... no 100% for sure baby moves just yet.

Food cravings: I have discovered Starbucks iced black tea and- no joke, I have been drinking it every day (some days twice a day).  I also have been craving mayonnaise on everything this week- this week in a meeting, I had a salad and put a package of mayo on it... people looked at me like I was crazy. But it was so good.  Mayo is like the new ranch- it goes with everything.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing new, had some chicken last night and it didn't make me want to hurl, so that is good.  Still can't stand the idea of shrimp.

Have you started to show yet: People are starting to notice- there is no longer 'sucking it in' and hiding it.  Since my uterus is the size of a cantaloupe and has risen to my belly button, there is clearly something in there.

Gender: Girl!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: This week was rough- I haven't been able to talk to my husband as much as I would like, and that paired with the fact that i'm knocked up and by myself (and throw the hormones into the mix) make me a little sad.  It didn't help that this week was the gender ultrasound, and I felt sad that Lee wasn't able to be here for it.

Looking forward to:my parents coming out- my list of things i need my dads help with is getting longer!  Some of the tasks: buying big bags of dog food (I can't lift them), pressure washing the concrete (I know, weird, but I love pressure washing!), moving the office into the spare bedroom, and making the office into the nursery, getting a new mattress for me, baby shopping, more baby shopping, and lastly, baby shopping.

Other news? I am calling my husband by the nickname Dadzilla- he knows more about baby stuff then I do (thanks to all the reading he has been doing!) The other night, he actually told me I need to start lying on my side because the belly is getting to heavy for laying on my back (and then my doctor said the same thing the next day...)  How does he know this stuff? LOL.  I'm lucky to have a hubby who is so interested and involved in this process- even if he is a million miles away.  (He is more involved then lots of husbands who are actually physically here!) The day after we found out gender, he went online and bought Ledoux all sorts of clothes- I am anxious to get the box in the mail and see what he bought for her!

It's a...

GIRL! (and her new due date is August 7th!)

Her head is at the top, and her arms are next to her head!

My Pregnancy Books that I can't live without

Face it- this whole preggo thing IS NOT all rainbows and butterflies.  I am only week 17 and I know that!  This book is hilarious and REAL!

Lee gave this one to me, full of fun preggo facts (although I refuse to track my weight through this journal!)

Very good medical info

Not a book, but an app.  I check my Sprout on my Ipad every night to see what the baby looks like today.

This book is amazing.  And so is the free app that you can download for your iphone/ipad.  I check this app nightly too!

17 Weeks

This Week: 17 Weeks, 3 Days
A mini baby belly- look close, there is a sweet potato in there!

Total weight gain/loss: NADA!  So excited the weight gain has been zero- thanks to my treadmill that is parked in the middle of my living room (so that when I am watching TV, I feel guilty and get on it...) 2 miles a night, 4-5 nights a week.  My new found love of applesauce and pomegranate popsicles are helping to keep the lbs off so far. (I used to LOATHE applesauce)

Maternity clothes? Nope, still wearing the normal, pre-knocked up clothes (but my jeans are getting a bit tight...)

Stretch marks? No - using my cocoa butter daily- I heard stretch marks are mostly inherited- meaning if my mother had them, I will...but she said she didn't really get any.  Fingers crossed!

Size of Baby (in produce)? A Sweet Potato this week.  I was at the store tonight and saw the sweet potatoes, and actually picked one up trying to figure out how that could be compared to the baby in my belly.

Sleep: No issues here, except for waking up to PEE nonstop.  And the dreams I have been having lately are beyond bizarre, and so real.  My poor husband got the brunt of one of my dreams- I woke up and was so mad at him, and then realized it was all a dream.  I was actually crying in my sleep.  WHAT IS GOING ON?! Pregnancy is crazy.

Best moment this week: Good news from the Dr that my Thyroid is back to normal levels right now- still on the meds and more blood tests to monitor, but so far, so good.

Miss Anything? MY HUSBAND, My trusty Yellow Tail Cabernet, extra caffeine americanos in the morning, subway turkey sandwiches, banana beer... the list goes on, but those are what i have missed this week.

Movement: I *think* I have felt something, but from what I have read, it might just be those darn gas bubbles...  eagerly waiting to feel a kick (or punch).

Food cravings: Pomegranate Popsicles, applesauce, V8 juice, and tonight, Eggo waffles (weird...haven't had those since i was maybe...8 years old?)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still can't even look at chicken (makes me want to gag just writing this) and shrimp.  Gahh!

Have you started to show yet: A teeny little bit- hard to tell if its baby or bloat.

Gender: Girl (80% sure... confirmation to come this week or next)

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Changes day to day- missing my husband most days, which makes me more moody than I would probably be if he was here.  I am a little quicker to get frustrated at silly things too.

Looking forward to: My Dr. Appointment this week, finding out if its a girl still, or if it has sprouted boy parts!

Other news? Looking forward to my parents visit for St. Patricks Day- no green beer for this girl though (damnit).  Can I have O'Douls?  That is non-alcoholic, right?  I have a LONG list of things to get accomplished with them, starting with buying a new mattress (I figure being preggo is the perfect reason to get that tempurpedic mattress I have been wanting! Thanks Baby Abel for giving me a reason to justify such a huge purchase!) and having my dad do some 'man' things in the backyard (like lawnwork and pressure washing my concrete...if he is reading this, thanks dad!)
Making Daddy proud- already throwing up the UT Hook 'Em Horns

Welcome Lil' Baby Abel!

Nursery Chalkboard
Lil' Abel at 9 weeks old

Due date: August 9th, 2012

Baby #1 for both of us (other than our doggies and cat, of course!)

Sign: Leo
Leo Strengths:- Confident, Ambitious, Generous, Loyal, Encouraging

Gender: Thinkin' pink...

Planned?  We had talked about it, but decided to wait until Lee got back from Afghanistan.. so much for 'planning'.  Found out a month before Lee left (when we were in Hawaii) that Baby Abel would be making an appearance much sooner than we had planned. I guess when they say you can't miss a day or two of taking your pill, they mean it.
